How Singapore take-home pay is worked out
Citizens and permanent residents pay into the Central Provident Fund (CPF). Monthly salary counts up to $8,000.00, and total CPF wages including bonuses are capped at $102,000.00 a year. Your CPF contributions also reduce your taxable income.
Income tax is charged on chargeable income after reliefs. Everyone gets the earned income relief of $1,000.00. Singapore taxes income in the year after it is earned, so 2026 pay is taxed in the 2027 year of assessment.
